Mission and objectives

UNICRI is a United Nations entity established in 1968 and mandate to assist intergovernmental, governmental and non-governmental organizations in formulating and implementing improved policies in the field of crime prevention and criminal justice. The Institute strongly emphasizes action-oriented analysis and integrated technical assistance. The current priorities are justice reform, financial and emerging crimes and security governance. UNICRI, as part of the European Union’s (EU) CBRN Risk Mitigation Centres of Excellence (CoE) Initiative, has leveraged the expertise outlined in the Prosecutors Guide on Chemical and Biological (CB) Crimes and the Prosecutors Guide on Radiological and Nuclear (RN) Crimes to craft a comprehensive capacity-building and training package. This initiative is designed to enhance investigative, prosecutorial, and adjudicative capabilities within the realm of CBRN crimes.

Task description

Under the supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the selected person will be involved in drafting and developing different project-related documents aimed at enhancing and sustaining the CBRN Investigation, Prosecution and Adjudication (IPA)capabilities of Moldova and Ukraine. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist in preparing and organizing virtual meetings, workshops, and conferences, including invitations, participant coordination, scheduling, and logistical arrangements.
  • Draft and edit written materials such as background documents, summary reports, issue briefs, talking points, and training-related presentations.
  • Attend online meetings and teleconferences to support project coordination, take detailed notes, summarize discussions, and track follow-up actions.
  • Create written outputs such as speeches or internal content by researching, drafting, and revising based on feedback.
  • Design and prepare visually engaging PowerPoint presentations with accurate content and speaker notes.
  • Collaborate with the project team to draft short articles or visibility materials highlighting milestones, achievements, or findings for publication on the website or social media.
  • Provide general support for events and project activities, including preparing participant materials, coordinating travel or technical requirements, and ensuring smooth logistics.

Assignment requirements

Required Experience

  • Experience supporting the organization and coordination of events, including scheduling, participant communication, and logistical arrangements.
  • Strong drafting and editing skills, with the ability to prepare clear and concise written materials such as reports, briefs, background notes, and talking points.
  • Proven ability to contribute to the development of concept notes and project proposals, including defining objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes.
  • Experience preparing presentations and training materials, with attention to clarity, structure, and audience engagement.
  • Ability to take detailed notes during meetings and produce accurate summaries, highlighting key discussions, decisions, and follow-up actions.
  • Strong research and analytical skills to support the preparation of speeches, internal documents, and other written outputs.
  • Proficiency in designing visually engaging and informative PowerPoint presentations, including the preparation of speaker notes.
  • Experience drafting communication and visibility materials, such as short articles or web content, to highlight project activities and achievements.
  • Solid organizational skills with the ability to support multiple tasks simultaneously and ensure smooth implementation of project activities and events.
  • Strong attention to detail, time management, and ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic team environment.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to take on additional responsibilities based on project needs.
