Role Description The Artisan Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Nigeria, responsible for overseeing, coordinating, and supporting skilled artisans across multiple projects. This role involves planning daily work schedules, assigning tasks, monitoring quality, and ensuring that all activities align with safety standards and project timelines. The Artisan Manager will liaise with project managers and supervisors to understand requirements, provide clear instructions to artisans, and resolve on-site challenges promptly. The role includes maintaining accurate records of work completed, materials used, and workforce allocation, as well as assisting with performance evaluations and training needs. The Artisan Manager will also help strengthen relationships with local artisan communities, promote best practices, and contribute to continuous improvement in efficiency and craftsmanship.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience supervising or coordinating artisans, technicians, or craft workers in agriculture, manufacturing, construction, or related fields.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, with the ability to manage schedules, allocate resources, and track project progress effectively.
  • Solid understanding of workplace safety practices, quality standards, and basic project management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to give clear instructions, provide feedback, and collaborate with diverse teams.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the capacity to handle on-site challenges, make practical decisions, and adapt to changing project needs.
  • Comfortable working on-site in various field locations within Nigeria and engaging directly with artisan communities.
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or construction operations in Nigeria or broader African context is an advantage.
  • Relevant vocational training, technical certification, or a diploma/degree in a related discipline is preferred; equivalent practical experience will be considered.
