Baker Jobs in Gurugram, Haryana, India at Odd Culture

Title: Baker

Company: Odd Culture

Location: Gurugram, Haryana, India

About the Company

Odd Culture is looking for a baker to anchor the morning programme at our first India venue – someone who treats the craft seriously, moves with quiet precision, and takes pride in what comes out of the oven every day.

About the Role

This isn't a production line position. We're building a café and restaurant where the bread and pastry programme is integral to the identity of the space — not an afterthought. You'll have real ownership of the bake, the menu, and the rhythm of the morning. The programme spans daily bread, pastry, seasonal specials, and items that pair with our food and drinks menu. Quality, consistency, and curiosity matter more than volume.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all baking across bread, viennoiserie, pastry, and daily specials
  • Develop and refine the morning menu in collaboration with the kitchen team
  • Manage prep schedules, fermentation, sourcing, and mise en place
  • Maintain consistency and quality across every item, every day
  • Work closely with the kitchen on menu integration and seasonal updates
  • Help train and guide any additional baking support as the team grows
  • Keep the bake station clean, organised, and running efficiently
  • Contribute ideas for collaborations, events, and limited-run specials

Qualifications

  • Experience 5+ years in a bakery, café, or restaurant baking role
  • Strong foundation in bread-making — sourdough, preferments, lamination
  • Solid pastry and viennoiserie skills across sweet and savoury
  • Experience working in or launching a café or hospitality kitchen
  • Ability to plan and execute the morning programme independently

Required Skills

  • Detail-oriented and consistent — you care about how things look and taste
  • Calm under pressure and reliable at early hours
  • Curious about ingredients, technique, and how things can be better
  • Comfortable in a small, collaborative team environment
  • Interested in the culture of the space — food, music, design, community

Preferred Skills

You have a genuine relationship with the craft. You know why something didn't work and how to fix it tomorrow. You're not chasing trends — you're focused on doing the fundamentals exceptionally well and building something with longevity.

Pay range and compensation package

Competitive salary based on experience. We're serious about building a team people want to stay in.
