About The Role

We are currently seeking a Barista to join our pre-opening team at Manhattan Grand Hotel. This role is responsible for crafting exceptional coffee and beverage experiences, combining technical skill with genuine warmth to create moments of connection for guests throughout their stay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and serve a full range of coffee, tea, and specialty beverages to consistent quality and presentation standards.
  • Operate, clean, and maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other bar equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Engage guests warmly, offering recommendations and personalising beverage preparation to individual preferences.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels of coffee, milk, syrups, and related supplies, coordinating replenishment with Purchasing and Stores.
  • Ensure the coffee station and surrounding area remain clean, organised, and compliant with hygiene and food safety standards.
  • Handle guest orders and payments accurately, ensuring proper use of the POS system.
  • Stay current on coffee trends, brewing techniques, and seasonal menu offerings to enhance the guest experience.
  • Support colleagues during high-volume periods, events, and banqueting functions as required.
  • Handle guest queries and minor concerns with professionalism, escalating to the Supervisor when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with the Hotel's brand standards, grooming guidelines, and Standard Operating Procedures.

About You

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Barista, preferably within an upscale hospitality, café, or specialty coffee environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of espresso-based beverages, brewing methods, and latte art will be considered an advantage.
  • Genuine passion for coffee craftsmanship and guest engagement.
  • Excellent communication skills in English; additional languages will be considered an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly in presentation, consistency, and hygiene.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality and warmth of service.
  • Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene practices; formal certification will be considered an advantage.
  • Flexibility to work rotating shifts, including mornings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
