About the Role:
Makro Philippines (CP Axtra AC Corporation) is looking for a Brand Communications Manager to build and protect our brand across every touchpoint — from corporate messaging and public relations to retail marketing campaigns and digital content. Reporting to the Head of Marketing, this role bridges corporate communications and retail brand execution as we grow our presence across the Philippines.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and maintain brand guidelines, ensuring consistency across all channels and touchpoints
• Lead corporate communications, media relations, and public relations initiatives
• Drive omnichannel awareness and footfall through a strategic mix of ATL (OOH, radio), BTL (hyper-local community activations), and digital channels (short-form video, conversational commerce) for both B2B and retail segments
• Develop and manage an influencer and content creator matrix — from macro-tastemakers to micro-B2B community advocates — to drive organic advocacy and brand engagement
• Craft grounded, human-centered narratives that build authentic emotional connections with Filipino consumers and business owners
• Oversee digital and social media presence, content calendar, and performance analytics
• Support internal communications, including HR bulletins, townhalls, and company announcements
• Manage relationships with creative agencies, PR firms, and media partners
• Provide communications support for store openings, trade shows, and key company events
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, or related field
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in brand communications, marketing communications, or corporate affairs — spanning both PR and retail marketing
• At least 2-3 years in a managerial capacity, leading campaigns and managing agencies or teams
• Retail, FMCG, or wholesale industry experience strongly preferred
• Strong storytelling and copywriting ability, with experience across digital, social, and traditional media
• Excellent stakeholder management and project management skills
