Bien Cuit is a James Beard-nominated, Brooklyn-based retail and wholesale bakery focusing on handcrafted bread and pastry. We are dedicated to the merging of classical and contemporary techniques that harness the benefits of fermentation, support the seasonality of local agriculture, and respect the centuries-old tradition of the bakery as the heart of the community. We are a quickly growing company and seek team members who are hands-on and have significant experience in the Food & Beverage industry.
The Role
The Chief Executive Officer will serve as the leader and operator of Bien Cuit, responsible for driving the overall company's growth, brand, and long-term strategy. Reporting to the board, the CEO will balance the creative and culinary identity of the brand with sound business execution.
Key Responsibilities
· Set and execute the company's strategic vision, growth plan, and operational priorities
· Lead and develop a high-performing leadership team across culinary, operations, finance, and marketing functions
· Oversee all financial performance, including P&L, budgeting, cashflow, and capital allocation
· Build and maintain relationships with investors, partners, vendors, and key stakeholders
· Identify and evaluate expansion opportunities, including new locations, wholesale, and brand partnerships
· Uphold and evolve the brand's commitment to quality, craft, and hospitality
· Foster a workplace culture that attracts and retains top talent at all levels
Ideal Candidate
· 10+ years of senior leadership experience, ideally in food & beverage, hospitality, or consumer brands
· Proven track record scaling a premium or craft brand
· Strong financial acumen with experience managing P&L, budgeting and executing financial analysis while working with investors or boards
· Exceptional communicator and relationship builder, equally comfortable with a team on the floor or investors in a boardroom
- Track record of driving Sales performance and building strategic partnerships or distribution channels.
- Expertise in Strategic Planning, with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans and measurable outcomes.
- Experience building and leading high-performing teams in a fast-growing company, with commitment to employee development and engagement.
· Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to operate in a hands-on environment
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, or a related field; MBA or equivalent executive experience is preferred.
