Community & Growth Manager Jobs in United States at MeSo Lab

Title: Community & Growth Manager

Company: MeSo Lab

Location: United States

About MeSo Lab

MeSo Lab is a Vancouver-based mobile game studio building Spelltails, a free-to-play hero-collector idle battler with a cat-themed pet care progression system. We are a small, focused team preparing for closed beta, soft launch, and global release. We move quickly, ship often, and care deeply about the player experience.

About the Role

We are hiring a hands-on Community & Growth Manager to own day-to-day execution across our owned social channels and our community Discord, and to partner with our GTM Director on launch, live ops, and growth initiatives. This is a creator-operator role, not a strategy-only role. You will be writing copy, capturing screenshots and clips, posting, replying, moderating, running Discord events, and reading the data that comes back. The GTM Director sets direction; you execute across every owned surface.

We are looking for someone who is highly responsive during the moments that matter — content drops, beta milestones, live events, and launch windows — and who treats community as a craft.

What You Will Do

  • Plan, create, and publish daily content across our social channels (TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, YouTube Shorts, and others as we expand).
  • Capture and edit short-form video, screenshots, and clips from the game, working from raw assets and from gameplay you record yourself.
  • Write platform-native copy that fits each channel's voice and audience.
  • Execute the GTM Director's content calendar and campaign plans, including paid social briefs handed off to media buyers.
  • Own day-to-day operation of our community Discord (The Cattery): post announcements, run channels, coordinate moderators, plan and execute community events, and keep the server healthy.
  • Engage with comments, DMs, mentions, and Discord conversations in a consistent brand voice during posted coverage windows. Escalate sensitive issues to the right owner.
  • Keep social, Discord, and in-game live events telling one consistent story across every surface.
  • Track and report on performance weekly: reach, engagement, follower growth, click-through, install attribution where available, Discord growth and activity, and qualitative sentiment.
  • Provide real-time coverage during agreed launch and live-event windows (closed beta milestones, soft launch, global launch, in-game events). Specific coverage windows will be defined in the Statement of Work.
  • Maintain a content asset library and a repeatable production workflow.
  • Stay current on mobile gaming, gacha, and creator-economy trends, and bring ideas to the team.
  • What You Bring
  • 2+ years running social media for a consumer product, game, or entertainment brand, with examples you can show.
  • Hands-on production skills: short-form video editing (CapCut, Premiere, or similar), basic graphic design (Figma, Canva, or similar), and confident copywriting.
  • Working knowledge of TikTok, Instagram Reels, X/Twitter, YouTube Shorts, and the analytics each platform provides.
  • Hands-on community management experience, including running or moderating a Discord server with active members.
  • Comfort working from a content calendar set by a GTM lead, while still bringing original ideas and reactive content.
  • Experience balancing public social content with closer-knit community spaces, and judgment about what belongs where.
  • Strong written English, sharp judgment about brand voice, and a proofreader's eye.
  • Reliable communication on Discord and email during agreed working windows, and the ability to provide real-time coverage during pre-scheduled launch and live-event windows.
  • Authorization to work as an independent contractor in the United States.

Bonus Points

  • Direct experience with mobile free-to-play games, idle games, or gacha titles.
  • Familiarity with hero-collector or RPG audiences and the Discord communities around them.
  • Experience supporting a beta program or founder community on Discord.
  • Experience supporting a beta, soft launch, or global launch on mobile.
  • Comfort with light analytics tooling (Looker Studio, GA4, platform-native dashboards).
  • Experience writing briefs for paid social and working with media buyers or UA managers.

Working Arrangements

  • This is an independent contractor engagement governed by a written Services Agreement and Statement of Work. You will set your own working hours and methods, subject to deliverables and pre-scheduled coverage windows for launches and live events.
  • Remote, anywhere in the United States. Significant overlap with North American working hours is required for sync meetings and live-event coverage.
  • You will use your own equipment and tools, with project-specific software accounts provided by MeSo Lab.
  • This engagement does not include employee benefits, paid time off, or tax withholding. As a contractor, you are responsible for your own taxes and any required business registrations.

Compensation

  • Rate range: $30-$50/hour, commensurate with experience.
  • Final rate determined within the posted range based on portfolio, experience, and scope of work. Invoiced monthly against an agreed Statement of Work. Several US states require pay ranges in public job postings; this range reflects our reasonable, good-faith expectation for this role.
