About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Construction Stakeout Survey Crew Chief to join our team. The ideal candidate will lead a survey crew and also operate independently as a one-person crew. This role requires proficiency with modern survey technology, strong field experience, and the ability to manage construction layout and topographic data collection efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Lead a survey crew and coordinate daily field activities.
- Perform fieldwork independently as a one-person crew when needed.
- Conduct construction stakeout and topographic surveys.
- Collect and process field data using field-to-finish coding workflows.
- Operate and maintain Robotic Total Stations, GPS/GNSS equipment, and modern data collectors.
- Complete accurate field notes, sketches, and daily reports.
- Communicate effectively with project managers, engineers, and office staff.
- Ensure adherence to safety standards and proper equipment handling.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief.
- Proficiency with MS Windows, File Explorer, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong working knowledge of Robotic Total Stations and modern surveying data collectors.
- Ability to perform field-to-finish workflows.
- Residency in Montgomery, Prince George’s, or Anne Arundel County preferred (based on project locations).
- Certified Survey Technician (CST) credential is a plus.
