About the Role

We’re not just looking for someone who can write. We’re looking for someone who can think, challenge ideas, and craft words that make people stop scrolling. In this role, you will craft compelling copy across multiple platforms while contributing to campaign ideation, content strategies, and community management efforts that drive engagement, brand awareness, and conversions.

Beyond content creation, you will also play a key role in managing online communities across social media platforms — engaging with audiences, responding to messages and comments in both English and Bahasa Melayu, maintaining brand reputation, and helping turn conversations into meaningful relationships with the brand.

You will work closely with designers, strategists, and account managers to develop impactful campaigns and ensure messaging is aligned with client objectives and brand voice.

Key Responsibilities

Community Management & Audience Engagement

  • Manage and monitor social media platforms including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, XiaoHongShu, and other digital communities.
  • Respond to comments, direct messages, inquiries, and community interactions in a timely and professional manner.
  • Engage with audiences in a way that reflects the brand’s tone of voice and strengthens brand affinity.
  • Proactively interact with followers and online communities to encourage engagement and build positive relationships with audiences.
  • Monitor audience sentiment and identify opportunities to turn neutral or negative interactions into positive brand experiences.
  • Escalate sensitive issues, complaints, or crisis-related conversations internally when required.
  • Work closely with strategists and account managers to ensure community responses align with campaign messaging and client expectations.
  • Assist in monitoring social conversations, trending topics, and audience behaviour to identify engagement opportunities.
  • Maintain consistency in communication across all customer touchpoints and social media platforms.
  • Support community reporting by tracking engagement, audience feedback, and recurring conversation themes.

Content Planning & Strategy Support

  • Work with strategists to develop content calendars and campaign messaging.
  • Research industry trends, competitors, and audience behaviour to generate content ideas.
  • Ensure content aligns with marketing objectives and digital strategies.
  • Assist in optimising content for performance across different digital platforms.

Copywriting & Content Development

  • Write clear, engaging, and persuasive copy in both English and Bahasa Melayu across multiple digital platforms including social media, websites, eDMs, landing pages, digital ads, and marketing campaigns.
  • Adapt tone, messaging, and writing style according to brand guidelines and target audiences.
  • Craft compelling headlines, taglines, captions, and call-to-actions that drive engagement and conversions in both English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Edit and proofread copy to ensure accuracy, clarity, and brand consistency.
  • Ensure all written content aligns with campaign messaging and communication strategies.
  • Work closely with art directors and develop scripts alongside the storyboard.

Campaign & Content Ideation

  • Contribute ideas during brainstorming sessions for marketing campaigns and always-on content.
  • Develop creative concepts, storytelling angles, and messaging frameworks for campaigns.
  • Support the development of communication plans and campaign narratives.
  • Participate in pitch proposals and assist in developing creative concepts for new business opportunities.

Collaboration

  • Work closely with designers to ensure copy and visuals complement each other.
  • Collaborate with strategists, account managers, and digital teams to deliver integrated campaigns.
  • Participate in internal discussions to understand client requirements and messaging direction.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time and meet creative standards.

Candidate Requirements

  • Hungry to learn and able to adapt quickly in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • Strong writing and communication skills in both English and Bahasa Melayu, with the ability to craft clear, engaging, and persuasive copy.
  • Experience writing for digital platforms including social media, ads, websites, and marketing campaigns.
  • Strong attention to detail in grammar, tone, and messaging.
  • Comfortable communicating and engaging with online audiences professionally in both English and Bahasa Melayu.
  • Good project and time management skills, able to handle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Slides, Sheets) for collaboration and content planning.
  • Understanding of digital marketing concepts, including brand awareness, engagement, and conversion-driven content.
  • Basic understanding of digital advertising platforms (Meta, Google, TikTok) and how copy contributes to ad performance.
  • Ability to adapt writing styles, tones, and messaging effectively across different brands, audiences, and languages.
  • Good understanding of social media culture, audience behaviour, and community engagement trends.
  • Ability to remain calm, solution-oriented, and professional when handling negative comments or sensitive conversations online.
  • Comfortable managing multiple brand tones and communication styles across different platforms.
  • A fun, confident personality that brings great energy to the team, while still being professional when it matters.

Bonus Skills

  • Basic understanding of SEO and SEM.
  • Experience working with design teams and creative production workflows.
  • Experience in community management, customer engagement, or social media moderation is an advantage.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator) for collaboration with designers.
  • Familiarity with social media management and scheduling tools is a bonus.
  • Ability to write professionally in both English and Bahasa Melayu is highly preferred.
  • Ability to write in additional languages such as Chinese is an added advantage.
