Scope: Customer Business Development Manager – Export Markets
Reports to: General Manager EMEE
Location: Hungary, Budapest- the role requires approximately 20% travel.

JOB PURPOSE:
The Customer Business Development (CBD) Manager for Export Markets is responsible for leading and growing the company’s commercial presence in subclusters of EMEE. The role manages the full customer and distributor agenda – driving in‑market sales, shaping the commercial strategy, and ensuring strong collaboration with local partners to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.
You will serve as the primary commercial interface for our distributors, ensuring excellent execution, demand generation, and compliance with global and regional standards. The role requires strong business acumen, customer focus, and the ability to translate strategy into operational results across diverse export markets.
Main Accountabilities
- Market & Business Development
- Develop and own the annual business plans for area of responsibility, aligned with regional commercial priorities.
- Identify growth opportunities, including channel expansion, portfolio optimization, pricing, and market activation.
- Conduct regular market visits to assess execution, competitive dynamics, and consumer trends.
- Distributor Management
- Act as the main point of contact for local distributors, ensuring strong operational collaboration and performance.
- Lead Joint Business Plans (JBPs), performance reviews, and forecasting cycles.
- Monitor distributor KPIs (sell‑in, sell‑out, stock levels, visibility, execution, credit exposure).
- Sales Planning & Execution
- Drive accurate demand forecasting in partnership with Supply Chain.
- Develop and track promotional plans, trade investments, and channel execution standards.
- Ensure excellence in in‑market execution across Modern Trade, Traditional Trade, and HoReCa (where applicable).
- Customer & Channel Strategy
- Implement channel strategies and category plans tailored to local market realities.
- Optimize product assortment, pricing strategy, and trade terms in line with regional policies.
- Ensure compliance with brand guidelines, merchandising standards, and activation plans.
- Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Marketing, Finance, Supply Chain, and Regional CBD teams to ensure aligned operations across markets.
- Support product launches, regulatory needs, and supply chain processes to ensure operational continuity.
- Performance Management & Reporting
- Deliver accurate sales reports, forecasts, and P&L insights for export markets.
- Track distributor performance against targets and recommend corrective actions when needed.
- Provide business updates to regional leadership, including KPI tracking and strategic insights.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in economics, Finance, Marketing.
- Master’s degree is an asset.
- 3-5+ years of experience in customer development, sales, account management, or commercial roles—preferably in FMCG.
- Experience managing distributors or export markets is a strong plus.
- Excellent commercial acumen and understanding of trade dynamics.
- Strong negotiation, relationship‑building, and communication skills.
- Fluency in English;
- Comfort working autonomously and managing multiple markets.
