Position Overview
We are seeking a passionate and reliable part-time Dance Instructor to join our team. We are especially interested in instructors experienced in acro, ballet, jazz, and hip hop
, though versatility in multiple styles is a strong asset. Hours would be between 6-10hrs per week.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate dance classes for various skill levels
- Teach and demonstrate proper technique, choreography, and performance skills
- Create a positive, inclusive, and supportive class environment
- Prepare students for recitals, competitions, and performances
- Monitor student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dancers, especially during acro instruction
- Maintain studio cleanliness and organization of equipment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and studio staff
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching dance, preferably in acro, ballet, jazz, and/or hip hop
- Strong technical foundation in one or more dance styles
- Acro certification (or willingness to obtain) is considered an asset
- Experience working with children and youth
- Ability to create choreography and structure lesson plans
- Energetic, patient, and positive attitude
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- First Aid/CPR certification is an asset
- Availability for evenings and/or weekends
