Design Director Jobs in Toronto, Canada at Mint
We’re looking for a Design Director to lead and elevate the visual output across all client work. This role is equal parts maker and leader—someone who can craft exceptional design while guiding a team to do the same.
You’ll shape creative direction, push the quality of work, and translate strategy into compelling, beautifully executed ideas.
What You’ll Do
- Lead design across brand, campaign, and digital projects from concept to execution
- Define and uphold a high standard of visual craft and creative excellence
- Translate strategic insights into strong, ownable visual ideas and systems
- Collaborate closely with Creative, Strategy, and Account teams
- Provide clear direction and mentorship to designers
- Refine and elevate work through hands‑on involvement and feedback
- Present work confidently to clients and stakeholders
- Champion design thinking and innovation within the agency
What You Bring
- 6–10+ years of experience in design, with agency experience preferred
- A strong portfolio demonstrating brand systems, campaigns, and digital work
- Exceptional craft across typography, layout, and visual storytelling
- Strong conceptual thinking and taste level
- Confidence in presenting and articulating design decisions
- Experience leading or mentoring designers
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (motion and prototyping tools a plus)
Nice to Have
- Motion, 3D, or interactive experience
- Experience building brands from the ground up
- Interest in culture, trends, and emerging creative tools
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is $110,000 to $155,000. Individual compensation within this range is determined based on job‑related factors such as experience, skills, level of responsibility, internal equity, and business needs.
