Design Engineer Jobs in Argentina at Generated Group

Title: Design Engineer

Company: Generated Group

Location: Argentina

Location: Remote (distributed team) · Type: Full-time / Contract.

Compensation: 2000-4000 USD monthly based on experience.

About the role:

We're looking for a Design Engineer – someone who lives at the intersection of design and frontend engineering, and whose medium is code itself. You're not a frontend developer who tolerates design, and not a designer who dabbles in code. You're the person who can take a rough problem and come back with a working, polished, opinionated interface, because you believe the truth of an interface only reveals itself when it's running in the browser. You prototype in React, not just in Figma, because a static frame can't tell you how an animation feels or how a layout breaks at an awkward viewport.

If you notice when something is 4px off, when an easing curve feels cheap, or when a loading state was an afterthought, this role is for you.

What you'll do:

  • Own product surfaces end to end, from interaction concept to shipped, polished UI.
  • Prototype directly in code to explore and validate ideas quickly, with real data, real motion, and real interactions.
  • Build and maintain the craft layer of our frontend: micro-interactions, animation and motion, responsive behavior, empty and error states, keyboard navigation, and accessibility.
  • Translate ambiguous product ideas into interfaces that feel intentional and premium, without waiting on a full designer-to-engineer handoff cycle.
  • Contribute to and evolve our design system and component library so quality scales across the product.
  • Partner with product, design, and backend engineers to make sure what ships feels as good as it works.

What we're looking for:

  • Strong frontend engineering fundamentals in React and TypeScript, with real fluency in modern CSS.
  • Genuine design taste: a feel for spacing, typography, hierarchy, color, and restraint. This is the hardest thing to fake and the thing we care about most.
  • Comfort building motion and interaction (Framer Motion, CSS transitions, springs) and an instinct for when motion adds clarity versus noise.
  • A portfolio or body of work that shows interfaces you're proud of, ideally things we can click on and feel.
  • Care about the details others skip: perceived performance, the 60fps, the polish that separates "fine" from "great."
  • Ability to operate with autonomy in a distributed team and push a feature forward without heavy hand-holding.

Nice to have:

  • Experience working in or contributing to a design system at scale.
  • Background in product-led companies where craft is a competitive advantage.
  • Familiarity with our stack beyond the frontend (Node.js, PostgreSQL, AWS) so you can reason about the full surface.
  • Comfort prototyping with AI-assisted tooling to move faster.

How we evaluate:

We weight a portfolio and a practical exercise far more heavily than a traditional algorithm interview. We want to see how you think about an interface, how you make tradeoffs, and how something feels once it's in your hands. Expect to walk us through work you've shipped and, likely, a short take-home or live build focused on interaction and polish rather than puzzle-solving.

How we work:

We're a small, fast-moving team, so ownership matters. The people who thrive here are proactive, reliable, and highly responsive. We value teammates who identify problems before they're asked, communicate clearly, and consistently follow through on commitments.

This role is best suited for someone who:

  • Takes ownership of their work and can be trusted to drive projects forward without constant oversight.
  • Communicates clearly and professionally in English, both written and verbal. You don't need to be a native speaker, but you should be comfortable discussing technical and product decisions in English on a daily basis.
  • Works well in a collaborative environment, gives and receives feedback constructively, and cares more about building great products than protecting their ego.
  • Is organized, dependable, and takes deadlines and commitments seriously.
  • Enjoys working in a remote, distributed team and is comfortable keeping others informed of progress, blockers, and decisions.
  • Is looking for a long-term opportunity where they can grow alongside the company and have a meaningful impact on the product.

We're not looking for someone who simply completes tickets. We're looking for someone who cares about the outcome, takes pride in their craft, and wants to help build something exceptional over time.
