The Film Program at Texas State University’s School of Theatre, Dance, and Film seeks a dynamic self‑starter for its Film Program Administrator position. This position will play a lead role in helping manage, organize, and provide overall support to the growing film program.
This position is primarily responsible for all the equipment needs of the program, as well as any and all events, screenings, and other out‑of‑classroom resources the program provides. The Film Program Administrator will collaborate with campus partners, and regularly consult with the film program area head.
Through strong organizational skills, ability to implement best practices, and exceptional knowledge of industry trends, this role will provide technical as well as administrative support to Texas State Film.
Job Duties
- Organize, plan, and execute all film program events (including end‑year screenings, fundraisers, workshops, etc.)
- Oversee all program promotion and community outreach, executing strategic partnerships both on and off campus, to increase program visibility
- Work with Communications & Marketing Manager to support all marketing & recruitment efforts for the film program
- Work with Equipment & Studio Manager and University IT staff to support the sound stage, sound recording lab and the computer labs.
- Partner with the equipment and building manager to assist with the maintenance of equipment inventory, the hiring and supervision of student workers, and the reservation of building resources.
- Manage all classroom scheduling for Live Oak Hall
- Coordinate the track coordinator positions for all tracks, including collating reports etc.
- Maintain all co‑curricular student resources (internships, festivals, funding, etc.)
- Handle all facility requests (AIM)
- Create and maintain robust alumni resources (job board, forum, networking events, etc.)
- Serve as School of Theatre, Dance, and Film’s “Technology Support Person” to help manage computer labs, faculty computers, and some classroom computers.
- Other duties and projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
Applicants must specifically address how they meet these required qualifications.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in film production, communications, or a related field.
- Documented ability to implement organizational and project management practices.
- Industry knowledge and experience with film equipment trends, best practices, tools and uses.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven ability to work on multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Prior experience in related field (1‑2 years)
- Experience in the creation and editing of video content for digital use.
- Exceptional communication, organizational and project management skills.
- A self‑starter who is capable of working with limited supervision and is willing to work in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment.
- Strong in Adobe Creative Suite or online equivalent including Canva.
- Strong knowledge of Asset Management software (Web Checkout or equivalent)
