Title: Electrical Engineering

Company: Alignerr

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Canada

Electrical Engineering — AI Data Trainer

About The Role

We're looking for electrical engineers to help train and improve the next generation of AI models. Your deep technical knowledge will be used to challenge, evaluate, and refine how AI reasons through complex engineering problems — from circuit analysis to control systems to signal processing.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role. You set your schedule and work as much or as little as suits you.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Design Challenging Problems — Craft advanced electrical engineering problems across domains like circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and embedded systems to stress-test AI performance
  • Author Gold-Standard Solutions — Write rigorous, step-by-step technical solutions that serve as benchmarks for AI learning and evaluation
  • Audit Technical Accuracy — Review AI-generated outputs including code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for correctness, safety, and adherence to engineering standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC)
  • Improve AI Reasoning — Identify flaws in AI logic and provide structured, actionable feedback to sharpen how the model thinks through engineering problems

Who You Are

  • Advanced Degree — Master's (pursuing or completed) or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field
  • Domain Expertise — Strong foundational knowledge in one or more core areas: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, signal processing, or similar
  • Precise Communicator — Able to explain highly technical concepts clearly and concisely in written form
  • Detail-Oriented — High level of accuracy when reviewing mathematical equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation
  • No prior AI experience required — we'll get you up to speed

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, technical writing, or evaluation systems
  • Familiarity with AI or machine learning workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work on genuinely cutting-edge AI projects in partnership with leading research labs
  • Fully remote and async — work on your own schedule, from anywhere
  • Freelance autonomy with the opportunity for ongoing, extended contract work
  • Contribute to AI that actually understands engineering — your expertise makes a real difference
  • Collaborate with a global network of technical specialists and AI researchers
