Position: Event Planner for BCGEU Events
Elevate union experiences as a Temporary Event Planner with BCGEU in Burnaby. Plan and execute large-scale conferences and conventions while supporting team travel arrangements.
In this six-month position, you will report to the Director of Logistics and manage all logistics for BCGEU events.
Your role involves coordinating with vendors, creating budgets, and ensuring all aspects of travel bookings are addressed. Your strong organizational skills will be crucial in executing both large conventions and smaller meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
• Organize and coordinate BCGEU conferences and events
• Negotiate contracts with venues and vendors
• Prepare and monitor budgets for events
• Manage travel arrangements for staff and members
• Respond to inquiries regarding travel policies
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years in planning conventions
• 4 years managing event budgets and travel bookings
• Proven experience in negotiating contracts
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Valid B.C. Driver’s license for travel
