Executive Brand & Communications Specialist Jobs in South Africa at Source86

Title: Executive Brand & Communications Specialist

Company: Source86

Location: South Africa

Executive Brand & Communications Specialist

📍 Remote | Global Team | Maketing Department

At Source86, we're building the backbone of the global food supply chain – helping our partners source, move, and deliver the world's best ingredients with clarity, speed, and service that actually feels human. We sweat the small stuff, act like true partners, and solve the "86 moments" in our customers' supply chains with transparency and precision.

Now we're looking for the person who shapes how Source86 is understood, trusted, and chosen by partners, investors, and global stakeholders.

🌶️ Your Impact in This Role – Role Overview & Key Responsibilities

This is a high-ownership role for a commercially minded storyteller and operator. You combine strategic thinking, elite writing ability, and strong judgment. You won't be executing a checklist, you'll be absorbing our CEO's identity and turning it into a consistent, credible presence that opens doors, builds trust, and drives real business impact.

You'll own:

The CEO's LinkedIn, content calendar, voice, posting cadence, and outreach campaigns that actually land.

Drive PR and media relations end-to-end – cultivating 1:1 relationships with journalists and thought leaders, leveraging platforms like Qwoted (or similar), securing earned coverage, and opening doors to podcast and speaking opportunities that position Source86 as a sector leader.

Brand consistency, ensuring the CEO's voice and company narrative are consistent across every touchpoint: content, communications, events etc.

Networking & business development support, events, trade shows, outreach to the right profiles, getting the CEO into the right rooms and conversations

Drive a proactive weekly content and brand strategy across channels – you bring the ideas, you push execution, and you don't let good content die in a to-do list.

Internal narrative consistency, making sure the story doesn't stop at the company door

This role is hands-on. You move between strategy and execution without losing quality in either direction.

Required Skills or Experience

6–7+ years in corporate, executive, or internal communications

Strong background supporting Sales, Customer Success, or GTM/revenue-focused teams

Proven ability to craft executive-level messaging, presentations, and narratives for senior stakeholders

Excellent written and verbal communication, you make complex things clear, compelling, and commercially relevant

Deep understanding of how revenue-generating organizations operate: their cadence, priorities, and stakeholder dynamics

Experience managing internal channels: Slack, newsletters, presentations, videos, town halls

Highly organized and detail-oriented, you hold multiple communication streams without dropping one, in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment

A natural storyteller who knows the media landscape, journalists, publications, podcasts, and knows how to pitch and get results

You measure success by quality of presence and market positioning, not volume of posts

⭐ Preferred Skills or Experience

Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field (preferred)

Experience managing a founder or executive's personal brand

Network within the US media or podcast ecosystem

A commercial mindset, you understand how brand presence connects to pipeline, partnerships, and business growth

Mindset & Working Style

We're not looking for someone who executes tasks. We're looking for someone who genuinely absorbs the CEO's voice and identity and turns it into a consistent engine for trust, authority, and business development. You are patient and relational by nature, someone who builds over time and understands that presence is earned, not posted.
