Wētā FX is searching for Hard Surface Modellers with over 5 years of VFX production experience. In this role, you will develop digital assets like architectural pieces, vehicles, and more based on 2D references and scan data. Your ability to deliver high-quality models will support VFX production teams, ensuring all assets meet technical specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Create photorealistic models from diverse reference materials
• Develop clean and well-structured assets for effective use
• Collaborate with Rigging, FX, Layout and Lookdev departments
• Take direction while working independently and as a team player
• Demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail
Requirements:
• 5+ years of VFX production experience
• Proficient in Maya; experience with Mudbox or Z-Brush
• Comfortable with Linux desktop commands
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
• Strong portfolio showcasing clean topology and UVs
