Job Description
The Area Operations and Maintenance Department is seeking to appoint a Facilities Maintenance Technician. This is a permanent full-time position located in Fiji, based in the greater western Lautoka or Nadi area and the successful candidate will be required to work from this location. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.
Responsibilities
Specific duties include servicing, repairing or replacement of key facility systems, minor plumbing and electrical repairs, painting and plastering, carpentry, window, and door repairs, tiling and general handyperson duties. You may be required to travel within the Fiji region.
Qualifications
- Minimum 4–5 years’ experience in handyman, facilities, or building maintenance roles or a relevant trade qualification (certificate/diploma), trade school, apprenticeship training, BYU Pathways, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong working knowledge of general building maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, joinery, hardware, lock installation, preventive maintenance, and general repairs.
- Experienced in operating maintenance tools, machinery, and equipment, and coordinating with external contractors for specialist works.
- Sound understanding of health and safety, including safe handling of cleaning agents and chemicals.
- Physically capable of lifting and carrying up to 10kg, climbing ladders, and working at heights.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Capable of basic network troubleshooting, documentation, reporting, record keeping, and scheduling to meet compliance requirements.
- Strong communication and customer service skills, high integrity, sound judgment, attention to detail, and a proactive problem‑solving mindset.
- Reliable, team‑oriented, and effective at prioritising tasks and managing time.
- A valid, current driver’s license (essential)
