Role Description The Food Runner at Shree Dev Villa Hotel plays a key supporting role in delivering a smooth and timely dining experience for guests across the hotel’s restaurant, banquets, and events. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Kanpur, responsible for swiftly and accurately running food orders from the kitchen to guests’ tables and event areas. Day-to-day tasks include coordinating closely with servers and kitchen staff, checking orders for accuracy and presentation, and ensuring food is delivered at the correct temperature and to the correct guests. The Food Runner helps maintain cleanliness and organization in service stations, supports table clearing and resetting during busy periods, and assists in restocking cutlery, crockery, and service equipment. The role also involves interacting courteously with guests, addressing basic requests, and promptly communicating any issues or special needs to the service team or management.
Qualifications
- Strong coordination and expeditor skills to manage timing between kitchen and service teams.
- Effective communication skills to work closely with servers, kitchen staff, and supervisors.
- Customer service skills to interact politely with guests and support their dining experience.
- Basic food service and food & beverage knowledge, including handling dishes safely and hygienically.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and carry multiple plates or trays safely.
- Attention to detail, punctuality, and reliability in a fast-paced hospitality setting.
- Prior experience in a restaurant, hotel, or banquet service environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by hotel operations.
