About the Role:

Product Safety & Quality Advisor Senior – Innovation FSQ (Retail Packaging)

Location:Seattle, WA (Hybrid – 4 Days Onsite)
Schedule:Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week

About the Role

We are seekingProduct Safety & Quality Advisor Seniorto support innovative retail packaging initiatives through a product safety and quality lens. In this role, you will partner closely with R&D, Packaging Development, Innovation, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure new packaging materials, designs, and technologies meet quality, food safety, and regulatory requirements before commercialization.

This is an exciting opportunity to influence packaging innovation while ensuring product safety, supplier readiness, and manufacturing excellence across the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support packaging innovation projects by identifying product safety, quality, and manufacturing risks early in the development process.
  • Lead supplier onboarding, qualification, and manufacturing site readiness activities for new packaging programs.
  • Conduct supplier assessments, audits, and risk evaluations to ensure compliance with food safety, GMP, and packaging quality standards.
  • Partner with Packaging Development and R&D teams to establish material, process, and performance qualification requirements.
  • Provide quality oversight during pilot runs, scale-up activities, and first production builds.
  • Evaluate manufacturing process capability, including Cp/Cpk analysis, validation plans, and control strategies.
  • Maintain Product Safety Review (PSR) documentation and ensure traceability throughout innovation projects.
  • Collaborate with supplier Food Safety & Quality teams to address quality concerns and support successful product launches.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor balancing innovation speed with product safety, quality, and customer trust.

Required Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Supplier Quality, Product Quality, Packaging Quality, Food Safety, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Experience developing and implementing quality programs, supplier quality systems, or product quality auditing processes.
  • Knowledge of Quality Management Systems (QMS), including:
  • HACCP
  • GMP
  • ISO Standards
  • GFSI
  • BRC Standards
  • Experience supporting product safety and quality compliance programs.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project coordination abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with retail packaging, food-contact packaging, or consumer packaging products.

Knowledge of:

  • Disposable cups and lids
  • Paper packaging
  • Plastic packaging
  • Compostable fiber packaging
  • Non-food-contact packaging
  • Experience working with packaging suppliers and manufacturing partners.
  • Experience supporting commercialization, pilot production, or new product introduction activities.

Salary Range: The salary for this position is between $95,000-$100,000 annually.  Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
