Title: General Labourer

Major Responsibilities:
– Ensures safe and efficient operation of cranes and processing equipment
– Ensures the processing equipment is operating to specifications
– Performs daily inspection on lifting equipment prior to start up
– Enters required information into the AS400 per control plan
– Ensures all necessary reports have been completed
– Identifies packaged material per sales order requirements
– Ensures non-conforming product is brought forth to the Production Supervisor for disposition
– Generates and applies finish good tags to packaged product
– Updates inventory material locations (RTS)
– Maintains good housekeeping in the work area
– Take part and initiate continuous improvement efforts
– Trains new employees as required
– Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor Quality System Requirements (Authority & Responsibility)
– Initiate action to prevent the occurrence of any non-conformities relating to product, process and quality system
– Identify and record any problems relating to the product, process and quality system
– Initiate, recommend or provide solutions through designated channels
Tools & Equipment:
– Deslagging and grinding equipment, measuring equipment, hand tools / banding equipment, computer equipment (RF scanner / AS400) lift trucks and packaging area cranes Material & Products – Not limited to ferrous and non-ferrous product in form of sheet, plate, strip, extrusions and long product

Qualifications:
– High School education or equivalent combination of education and experience. English spoken and written.
The base pay for this position is $23.17/hour (CAD). This position is eligible to participate in a short-term incentive plan. Incentive awards, if any, are based on business and individual performance and are not guaranteed.
