About the Role
The GIS/CAD Operator is responsible for producing accurate geospatial data, maps, and technical drawings to support construction and infrastructure projects. The role focuses on projects related to water supply, sanitation (WASH), and associated infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, road, and building works.
The position requires strong technical expertise in GIS and CAD systems, as well as collaboration with engineering teams and Water and Sanitation (WS) facilitators to ensure designs and spatial data align with local conditions and project requirements.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Geomatics, GIS, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in:
a. GIS/CAD operations, and/or
b. Construction supervision or project design
- Proven experience in GIS mapping and CAD drafting for construction or infrastructure projects.
- Experience working on water supply and sanitation (WASH) projects is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with infrastructure design, including:
a. Mechanical and electrical systems
b. Road and building construction
- Proficiency in GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Experience handling spatial data, surveys, and mapping outputs.
- Strong understanding of technical drawings and engineering design requirements.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams.
- Experience working with Water and Sanitation (WS) facilitators is an advantage.
- Local knowledge is essential, particularly for accurate mapping and community-based project implementation.
