As we expand into the specialty coffee and artisan bakery segment through our upcoming brand, we are seeking a visionary coffee professional to build and lead our coffee program from the ground up.

Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head of Coffee (Coffee Roastery & Beverage Innovation) to establish and lead the complete coffee vertical for our hospitality portfolio.
This is a unique opportunity to build a specialty coffee brand from inception. The successful candidate will lead coffee sourcing, roasting, quality assurance, beverage innovation, barista training, and coffee operations while developing a best-in-class coffee program across multiple cafés and hospitality venues.
The ideal candidate combines technical expertise with entrepreneurial thinking and has a deep passion for specialty coffee, roasting, and creating memorable guest experiences.
Key ResponsibilitiesCoffee Sourcing & Roastery
- Develop the overall coffee strategy and philosophy for the brand.
- Source premium green coffee beans directly from Indian coffee estates and international suppliers.
- Build and manage relationships with coffee growers, exporters, and importers.
- Lead the establishment and operation of our in-house coffee roastery.
- Develop roast profiles for espresso, filter coffee, and seasonal offerings.
- Create signature coffee blends exclusive to Peepal Select.
Beverage Innovation
- Design and continuously evolve the coffee and specialty beverage menu.
- Introduce seasonal beverages, signature creations, and innovative coffee experiences.
- Develop coffee and food pairing programs in collaboration with the culinary team.
- Stay updated with global coffee trends, brewing techniques, and consumer preferences.
Quality Assurance
- Establish SOPs for roasting, brewing, storage, calibration, and beverage preparation.
- Lead cupping sessions, sensory evaluations, and quality benchmarking.
- Ensure consistency in coffee quality across all outlets.
- Implement quality control measures from bean procurement to the final cup.
Training & Team Development
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop baristas and coffee professionals.
- Create structured training modules for coffee knowledge, brewing techniques, latte art, and customer engagement.
- Establish certification standards for all coffee team members.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and excellence.
Operations & Business Development
- Oversee daily coffee operations across multiple locations.
- Monitor beverage cost, wastage, inventory, and profitability.
- Work closely with procurement, operations, marketing, and culinary teams to achieve business objectives.
- Support new café launches, concept development, and expansion initiatives.
Desired Candidate Profile
- 6–10+ years of experience in specialty coffee, premium cafés, or coffee roasteries.
- Hands-on experience with coffee roasting and roast profile development.
- Strong knowledge of green coffee sourcing and supplier management.
- Expertise in espresso extraction, manual brewing methods, and coffee calibration.
- Excellent sensory evaluation and cupping skills.
- Proven experience in training and leading barista teams.
- Strong operational, commercial, and leadership capabilities.
- Passion for innovation, quality, and building a premium coffee brand.
- SCA (Specialty Coffee Association) certifications will be an added advantage but are not mandatory.
