Our Creative Development team adapts stories into compelling long-form audio series, bringing together talented writers to deliver high-quality, binge-worthy storytelling at scale.
We are seeking a Head Writer – Mafia Romance / Crime Drama to join the writers’ room for upcoming serialized audio projects. Reporting to the Head Writer and collaborating closely with the creative team, you will help craft emotionally intense, high-retention stories centered around forbidden romance, power struggles, betrayal, family dynasties, and criminal underworld drama.
Key Responsibilities
- Write and deliver episodic scripts for long-form (200+ hour) serialized audio series aligned with the creative vision established by the Head Writer.
- Adapt licensed international IP into gripping mafia romance and crime drama audio content across subgenres including dark romance, enemies-to-lovers, arranged marriage, revenge narratives, family empires, and underground crime thrillers.
- Collaborate with the Head Writer and Creative Development Lead to plan story arcs, romantic progression, character reveals, and high-stakes episodic structures.
- Craft emotionally charged narratives featuring intense romantic tension, dangerous relationships, betrayal, shifting alliances, and dramatic cliffhangers.
- Revise scripts based on detailed editorial feedback while maintaining consistency, pacing, tone, and narrative quality.
- Produce high-volume written content under tight deadlines while sustaining audience engagement and serialized momentum.
- Contribute supporting materials such as character profiles, family hierarchy breakdowns, relationship arcs, and promotional copy.
- Apply strong understanding of serialized storytelling techniques including hooks, emotional escalation, suspense, twists, and retention-focused pacing.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with editorial, production, and growth teams throughout iterative development processes.
- Support experimentation initiatives such as A/B testing of storylines, romance dynamics, twists, and narrative structures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Writing, Literature, Film, Journalism, or a related field.
- 3–5+ years of experience in long-form creative writing and editing (fiction, publishing, scriptwriting, serialized storytelling, or similar).
- Strong command of storytelling fundamentals including pacing, dialogue, suspense, emotional tension, and character development.
- Ability to write consistently under tight deadlines and adapt quickly to editorial feedback.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
