Role Description The Housekeeping Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based at Footprint Hostel in Udaipur. This role is responsible for maintaining clean, safe, and orderly guest rooms, dormitories, bathrooms, and common areas in line with hostel standards. Daily tasks include making beds, changing linens, cleaning and sanitizing surfaces, managing trash, and replenishing supplies such as toiletries and towels. The Housekeeping Specialist will also handle basic laundry tasks, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest items. Additional responsibilities include reporting maintenance issues, following health and safety procedures, supporting check-in and check-out readiness, and interacting courteously with guests to answer simple questions or direct them to reception. The role may also involve assisting with training new housekeeping team members on cleaning procedures and hostel policies.
Qualifications
- Housekeeping skills, including room cleaning, bathroom sanitation, bed making, and upkeep of common areas.
- Laundry skills, including washing, drying, folding, and organizing linens and guest laundry with attention to fabric care.
- Customer Service and Communication skills to interact politely with guests, respond to basic inquiries, and coordinate with team members and supervisors.
- Ability to support Training of new team members by demonstrating proper cleaning techniques, safety practices, and hostel standards.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and the ability to follow checklists and standard operating procedures.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, bend, lift, and move housekeeping supplies and equipment safely.
- Previous experience in housekeeping, hospitality, or a hostel environment is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays, as required by hostel operations.
