Position Overview
Our client is seeking an Internal Communications Writer to support employee and people focused communications within a fast paced organization. This role will partner closely with the Chief People Officer and HR leadership team to develop clear, engaging, and strategic internal messaging that supports organizational initiatives and employee engagement.
This opportunity could begin as a short term assignment with potential for extension or possible long term opportunity based on business needs. The ideal candidate is a strong writer who is proactive, collaborative, adaptable, and eager to grow within an internal communications function.
Position Title: Internal Communications Writer
Onsite/Remote?: Hybrid ( 3 days a week in Downtown Chicago)
Duration: ~3 weeks to ~3 months (short term)
Hours per week: 40
Target Start Date: ASAP
Pay: $45 – 50 W2
Responsibilities
• Develop and execute internal communications that support HR and people related initiatives
• Partner with leadership to craft messaging for organizational updates, employee engagement efforts, and internal campaigns
• Translate complex or sensitive information into clear, employee friendly communications
• Ensure messaging aligns with company voice, communication standards, and established communication playbooks
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to gather information and provide strategic communication support
• Incorporate feedback quickly while also providing thoughtful communication recommendations and perspective
• Manage multiple writing projects and deadlines in a fast moving environment
Qualifications
• 3 to 5 years of experience in internal communications, corporate communications, HR communications, or a related field
• Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with attention to tone and audience
• Experience supporting HR or people related communications preferred
• Ability to take direction, adapt messaging, and work independently with minimal oversight
• Self starter mindset with strong organizational and project management skills
• Comfortable working in a collaborative and evolving environment
