Position: Small Jazz Ensemble Sessional Instructor Role
Ambrose University seeks a Sessional Instructor for a Small Jazz Ensemble to inspire and direct student musicians in Calgary, AB. Enhance student learning through practical ensemble practices.
This unique opportunity is for qualified music instructors to lead a small jazz ensemble at Ambrose University. You will support student growth by teaching ensemble skills and evaluating their progress, significantly impacting their musical journey. A Master’s in Music is preferred, along with proven teaching success.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead engaging weekly practices for the jazz ensemble
• Evaluate and grade student musicians
• Prepare students for Ambrose Arts events and productions
Requirements:
• Master’s degree in Music preferred, or similar experience
• Strong background in applied music teaching
• Experience in live performance is essential
• Collaborative approach within the music faculty
• Must reside in Calgary, AB area
