Job Title: Jr. Buyer

Location: Forum 2, Santa Ana, San José, Costa Rica (Global role supporting multiple regions)

Reports to: Buy Desk Operations Manager

Work type: In office 5 days a week

The Jr. Buyer manages the purchasing and sourcing processes to ensure the best pricing and availability of material and services to support the company’s needs and demands.

A strong customer service mindset is essential. Prior experience with procurement fundamentals or buying processes will give you a competitive edge

Role Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for purchasing materials and supplies from vendors and executing buying strategies based on established buying plans to obtain the most quality at the lowest cost.
  • Creating purchase orders and executing bid requests.
  • Maintaining and ensuring that lead times, costs, order multiples/minimums are accurate.
  • Proactively communicating with internal departments on sourcing issues or delays.
  • Resolving supplier issues or concerns within a timely manner.
  • Ensuring proper documentation is provided by suppliers and that all purchasing activities adhere to established policies and procedures as required.
  • Participating in continuous improvement activities in support of Company business goals.
  • Assisting with ad hoc projects as required.

Role Requirements:

  • General business experience. Candidate must be willing to learn.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is required for this position (spoken and written).
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multi-tasking abilities.
  • Financial understanding and excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in team settings.
  • Excellent analytical skills, including spend analysis.
  • Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Suites.
  • Team player, strong interpersonal skills including conscientiousness, diplomacy, flexibility, and dependability.
