We are seeking a dynamic and versatile Full-Time News Writers to join our team. You’ll be responsible for producing fast, accurate, and engaging articles on a wide range of topics—from breaking news and entertainment to trending stories and lifestyle features. This hybrid role combines sharp news writing with voice-over narration and on-camera presentation.
Ideal candidates will have a strong grasp of English, a keen eye for compelling stories, and the ability to craft content that’s clear, dynamic and faced-paced. Experience with SEO and writing for digital audiences is a major plus.
Key Deliverables
Written Content
- Write and publish multiple articles daily under tight deadlines
- Ensure all copy is accurate, well-structured, and in line with the site's editorial style
- Craft SEO-optimized headlines and intros that drive engagement
- Monitor news wires, social media, and emerging trends to pitch relevant stories
- Maintain editorial accuracy, tone, and structure aligned with brand standards
- Update and repurpose evergreen content as needed
Voice-Over & On-Camera Presentation
- Record clear, engaging voice-overs for selected articles or video segments
- Present news stories on camera in a professional, newsroom-style format
- Submit short video clips (1–3 minutes) for use on social media and digital platforms
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- 1 year experience in digital journalism, news writing, content creation, or broadcasting
- Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
- Strong grasp of current events, especially Philippines, Canadian and global news
- SEO knowledge (keywords, meta tags, content optimization)
- Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a remote setting
- Comfortable appearing on camera and narrating scripts
Preferred
- Familiarity with WordPress or similar CMS
- Basic image editing (Canva, Photoshop)
- Must have your own Laptop/ PC, Headset with noise-canceling feature & webcam
- High speed internet connection
