The Role
We are establishing our in-house design function and are looking for a senior designer to lead it. This is a founding position and you will define the visual language of the company, build the systems that sustain it, and over time, build the team around it.
The work spans the full brand surface: identity, digital, motion, editorial, physical, and experiential. You will work directly with leadership and across engineering, business development, and communications. The standard we hold is set by the most design-serious technology companies in the world.
Responsibilities
– Define and own the visual identity of Apollyon Dynamics across all brand touchpoints
– Design and produce high-stakes materials ; investor decks, MoD briefings, product presentations
– Oversee brand films, product visualisations, and documentary content in collaboration with external production teams
– Build and maintain a coherent design system that scales with the company
– Manage relationships with external creative vendors ; photographers, animators, fabricators
– Lead physical brand presence at defence expos, industry events, and partner engagements
– Recruit and develop the design team as the function grows
Requirements
– 6+ years of design experience at a studio, agency, or in-house team at a technology company
– A portfolio demonstrating depth across at least three disciplines: brand identity, motion, digital product / UI, editorial, or physical / experiential
– Expert-level proficiency in Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud Illustrator, Photoshop, In Design
– Proficient in After Effects and Premiere Pro;
DaVinci Resolve is a plus
– Working knowledge of a 3D tool Cinema 4D, Blender, Rhino, or equivalent
– Familiarity with HTML / CSS sufficient for web QA and engineering collaboration
– Experience operating as the primary designer within an organisation and managing external creative resources
Preferred Background
– Experience in defence, aerospace, deep-tech, or a sector where design serves a consequential purpose
– Webflow or Framer for web production
– Comfort working with sensitive or restricted subject matter with appropriate discretion
