Marketing and Communications Contractor – Europe – Part-Time
Global Electronics Association is seeking a Part-Time Marketing and Communications Contractor that will drive strategic communications and stakeholder engagement efforts across the region. This role reports to the Chief Communications Officer and plays a pivotal part in building awareness, deepening relationships, and advancing the Association's mission with key audiences across media, policy, industry, and membership communities. The ideal candidate is both a skilled strategist and a hands-on operator, capable of crafting compelling narratives across multiple channels.
Responsibilities
- Engage and build relationships with key audiences including media, trade associations, industry stakeholders, members, policymakers, and adjacent communities to advance the Association's goals in Europe.
- Develop and implement marketing and communications strategies tailored to European audiences and priorities.
- Craft clear, compelling messaging and produce a range of written materials, including press releases, messaging, talking points, op-eds, blog posts, newsletters, and social media content.
- Serve as the primary liaison with the Association's agency partner(s), coordinating campaigns, deliverables, and strategy execution.
- Provide strategic counsel and guidance to internal teams and leadership on regional communications best practices and audience engagement.
- Prepare Association representatives and member spokespeople for media interviews, stakeholder meetings, industry briefings, and other public engagements.
- Monitor European media, policy, and industry landscape to identify opportunities and inform communications strategy.
- Support the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns that grow member engagement and brand visibility across the region.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or journalism.
- Demonstrated track record of strategic audience engagement across media, industry, policy, and/or membership communities.
- Experience with European policy and regulatory landscape.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences and formats.
- Proven ability to operate both as a strategic advisor and a hands-on practitioner.
- Strong relationship-building skills with experience engaging stakeholders across European markets.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Fluency in English; additional European language proficiency a plus.
- Based in Europe, preferably Munich or Brussels.
- Experience in trade association, technology sector, or B2B communications environments, preferred.
- Proficiency with Salesforce, HubSpot, and social media management tools a plus!
- Experience working with or managing agency partners, preferred.
- Must be able to work 20 – 25 hours/week.
