Role Summary
We're on the hunt for a talented Midweight Designer to join our agency office in Auckland full-time starting ASAP. As a Midweight Designer, you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality, thoughtful design work that brings ideas to life across a wide range of channels for our diverse client roster. Working closely with our Creative and Marketing teams, you’ll help shape and execute engaging visual solutions that align with brand guidelines and support strategic objectives.
You’ll collaborate on multi-stakeholder projects under the guidance of the Creative Strategist and alongside another midweight designer, while also confidently running briefs end-to-end. From advertising and branding to digital, social, web and print, your work will balance strong creative ideas with meticulous execution, contributing to meaningful outcomes for a diverse portfolio of clients.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Conceptualise, develop, and execute creative design solutions across print and digital, including advertising, branding, packaging, social media, EDMs, web assets, infographics, and presentations
- Collaborate with Creative, Marketing, and wider project teams to interpret briefs and translate ideas into compelling visual outcomes
- Contribute to creative thinking and ideation, supporting the development of effective campaign and content strategies
- Ensure consistent and accurate application of brand guidelines across multiple client identities
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing timelines, milestones, and priorities
- Receive and respond to feedback from internal teams and stakeholders, refining work to a high standard
- Maintain organised digital asset management, including design files, fonts, and imagery
- Stay curious about design trends, tools, and best practice to continually elevate the work

Essentials
- Degree in Graphic Design or a related field (preferred)
- 2–5 years’ professional design experience, ideally within a creative or marketing agency or in-house team
- A strong portfolio demonstrating concept-led thinking, technical skill, and attention to detail across multiple mediums
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and After Effects
- Strong file hygiene, naming conventions, and handover practices
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to confidently articulate design ideas
- A passion for strong creative ideas that solve client challenges in distinctive ways
- Understanding of how design supports marketing objectives, performance, and audience behaviour
- Pride in craft and detail, with a commitment to high-quality execution
- Excellent organisation and time management skills in a fast-paced environment
- Adaptability and flexibility as priorities, briefs, and creative requirements evolve
- A self-starting, collaborative mindset and genuine enthusiasm for creative work
- Experience using project management tools (e.g. Asana, Monday, Trello)
- Interest and experience with AI-assisted creative tools (e.g. image generation, layout exploration, ideation support)
Nice to Haves
We don’t expect one person to bring all of these skills, but experience in any of the above would add meaningful value to our team and the work we deliver.
- Experience or interest in no-code web design tools such as Figma or XD
- Familiarity with platforms including Webflow, Shopify, or Squarespace
- Interest or experience in motion design and animation
- Illustration skills or a distinctive visual craft (typography, iconography, layout systems)
- Photography, retouching, or art-direction experience
- Familiarity with UX/UI best practise
- Knowledge of accessibility principles in design (contrast, legibility, inclusive layouts)
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS to support collaboration with developers
- Familiarity with performance-led design, including testing, iteration, and optimisation
- Understanding of content-first design for social, including short-form video and UGC-style assets
