As a Multimedia Designer, you will create multimedia assets that meet business objectives and engage audiences. You will work across a wide range of projects, including video editing, animation, graphic design, and multimedia presentations. You will be responsible for creative output in these areas and collaborate closely with the digital team.
Key Responsibilities:
Graphic Design:
- Create eye-catching graphics for digital materials, including social media content, banners, email communications, digital newsletters, multimedia presentations, and websites.
- Collaborate with Art Directors and Copywriters to conceptualise and execute designs aligned with brand guidelines.
Video Editing:
- Edit and assemble raw video footage and graphics into compelling video content.
- Add effects, transitions, and music to enhance visual appeal.
- Assist with video animation and production.
Animation:
Social Media:
- Produce creative assets for all social platforms, following best practices for each.
PowerPoint / Multimedia Presentations:
- Design engaging presentations for pitches, webinars, and internal communication.
- Incorporate visuals, animations, and interactive elements to enhance engagement.
Advantageous:
Web Design:
- Webpage design and updates, including layout creation.
- Understanding of functionality, UX, and UI.
Requirements
- Must be based in-office in Bedfordview, Johannesburg.
- Proven experience with a strong portfolio in graphic design, video editing, and animation.
- Creativity with a strong eye for detail.
- Ability to develop innovative solutions to briefs and present them through visuals, mock-ups, storyboards, or animations.
- Solid understanding of design principles, typography, colour theory, and layout.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate in cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Relevant tertiary qualification with a strong digital foundation.

- Strong understanding of composition settings.
- 2D animation (3D is advantageous but not required).
- Experience importing AI and PSD files into After Effects.
- Strong understanding of editing workflows and best practices.
- Ability to sound design, colour grade, edit footage, and integrate After Effects files.
- Understanding of formats and codecs (digital, web, broadcast, outdoor media).
- Ability to optimise file sizes for different platforms.
- Knowledge of exporting with alpha channels.
Adobe Illustrator
- Strong understanding of layers for animation.
- Ability to simplify lockups and logos for After Effects.
- Strong use of Smart Objects for animation workflows.
- Understanding of PSD imports into After Effects.
- Ability to merge and rasterise layers for optimisation.
- Strong knowledge of layers, masks, and groups.
Adobe XD / Figma (Advantageous)
- Ability to design for multiple platforms.
- Basic HTML understanding for front-end design.
- Ability to set up workflow mock-ups for review.
