Job Description Northern News Services, a division of Black Press Media, is an award-winning community news media organization that offers a tremendous place to grow your career.
A nose for news and excellent written and verbal communication skills are the key to success in this position. As a Multimedia Reporter, you’ll get to cover a full range of topics including politics, crime, community features, arts, culture, and sports that will be published across our print and digital platforms. Knowledge of the North and its Indigenous languages and culture is a great advantage in this role!
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a team player that can multi-task and work in a complex print and digital publishing environment, who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment and is keen to learn and develop their skillset, which should include…Superior writing ability for print and web.
Practices proper grammar and is familiar with Canadian Press style.
Experienced in photography, video shooting, and InDesign.
A valid driver’s licence and reliable vehicle are required.
Experience:
Journalism – one (1) year (preferred)###
