Position: Multimedia Producer (Internal/External)
Location: Greater Sudbury

Cambrian College’s Marketing Department has an immediate requirement for a full-time Multimedia Production Specialist.

Note:
Internal candidates, as defined by the Full-Time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

The Multimedia Production Specialist brings a blend of technical, creative, strategic, and project management skills to create videos and multimedia assets to support marketing initiatives focused on recruitment (domestic and international) as well as the strategic business targets of other departments across the college.

Success in this role requires a broad range of technical skills along with an ability to manage projects, think strategically, collaborate with a wide range of partners, communicate clearly and effectively, work well both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute video production, collaborating with the marketing team and clients to determine project needs, score, timeline, and ideas for creative direction
  • Create and present concepts and/or storyboards to the marketing team and interest holders. Coordinate all aspects of:
    • Pre-production – production schedule, talent, costumes, props, interview questions, filming locations, equipment, on-set support etc.
    • Production – Equipment set‑up/tear‑down, stage management, set decoration, lighting, audio etc.
    • Post‑production – editing, colour, sound, music, client feedback, and captions
  • Maintain a customer‑service focus, building and maintaining contacts across the College
  • Maintain and monitor content on the College’s You Tube Channel
  • Conduct market research, monitor video trends within and outside of the postsecondary sector, and make recommendations for strategic directions while actively participating in creative planning sessions within the department and with clients.
  • Maintain currency on College programming, services, target audiences, and the latest software and applications related to video production, and recommend enhancements to equipment, software, subscriptions, and production processes.
  • Perform administrative tasks to support projects and overall department success:
    • Maintain video library
    • Receive, track and process project and tasks via ticketing platform
    • Track expenses related to video/multimedia production
    • Manage subscriptions related to video/multimedia production

Required

  • A two-year post‑secondary diploma in media/TV/video/multimedia, broadcast production or equivalent relevant education and/or experience.
    Education documents must be submitted with the application.
    * Education completed outside of Canada requires a WES or ICAS with their application.
  • Five years of experience leading the creation of high production videos, as well as less polished content for social media and other digital platforms.
  • Experience creating video/multimedia content for diverse industries and clients.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience taking projects from concept to finished product independently and with a team.
  • Experience leading broadcast productions, including live events.
  • Demonstrated skills in the operations of all production equipment required for video and broadcast productions.
  • A solid understanding of current trends in video production, including social/digital platforms and how videos are consumed by different target audiences.
  • Proficiency in relevant Adobe software including Premiere Pro, Photoshop, After Effects, Audition, with working knowledge of stock photo, video, and music.
  • Demonstrated high level of professionalism with excellent communication skills, good judgment and problem‑solving skills, along with solid interpersonal and customer‑service skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft software such as Word and Outlook.
  • Commitment to working within a team environment.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License.
  • Available to work early mornings, evenings, and weekends when necessary.

  • Drone pilot certificate
