KATU/KUNP has an opening for a Newscast Producer responsible for the day-to-day production of our newscasts and collaborating with the Executive Producer, Director, Assignment Desk and Anchors on content and flow. You will determine content and flow of newscasts, work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories, and develop content for our website.

- Oversee day-to-day production of newscasts

- Determine content and flow of newscasts and write stories
- Develop content for the website
Qualifications
- Solid news judgment
- Compelling and accurate writing
- Ability to multitask and manage time to assemble a strong newscast
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities
- Proficient with non-linear editing (e.g., Avid) and newsroom systems such as iNews
- Experience:
Must have at least some previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station; the right entry-level candidate may be considered
- Education:
A Journalism degree is preferred
