Executive Summary
The Operations Manager for the Florida Division is a senior-level leadership role responsible for the end-to-end operational integrity and technical execution of Warfab’s regional projects. This individual serves as the strategic link between project estimation and field realization, ensuring that all manufacturing, fabrication, and mining field service activities align with the company’s standards for safety, quality, and financial performance.
Core Responsibilities
Strategic Project Governance
- Technical Estimating & Scoping: Direct the technical scoping and detailed estimating for complex mining infrastructure, specifically focusing on Dragline maintenance, repairs, and tub refurbishments.
- Project Initialization: Translate contractual agreements and Purchase Orders into comprehensive Project Mobilization Sheets (PMS) to initiate the internal resource allocation process.
- Workforce & Resource Strategy: Define and deploy the exact technical requirements for each engagement, including specialized welding procedures, heavy rigging, and precision machining tolerances.
- Operational Throughput: Oversee the "PO to pavement" lifecycle to ensure 100% "Ready-to-Work" status for both field crews and shop operations prior to mobilization.
Human Capital & Performance Management
- Talent Lifecycle Management: Exercise full authority over the regional workforce, including the interviewing, hiring, and performance-based offboarding of craft and supervisory personnel.
- Leadership Development: Mentor and develop a high-performance culture among shop and field supervisors, promoting accountability and adherence to the "Warfab Standard".
- Strategic Crew Selection: Collaborate with the Staffing Coordinator to hand-pick high-competency Project Managers and Supervisors for critical, high-stakes mining outages.
Asset & Material Logistics
- Asset Lifecycle Oversight: Manage the Florida regional fleet and tooling, ensuring all equipment is "Green-Tagged" for service and maintained for maximum billable utilization.
- Procurement & Vendor Relations: Direct the purchasing of materials and consumables, optimizing vendor relationships to ensure that all fabrication and field components are staged according to project schedules.
- Asset Accountability: Conduct post-job recovery audits to maintain high rates of tool and rigging recovery and document equipment performance.
Financial & Administrative Control
- Margin Protection: Establish and monitor the Target Margin for all regional projects, utilizing "Bid vs. Actual" analysis to manage labor hours and material spend in real-time.
- Labor Accounting: Act as the primary audit point for all regional timesheets, ensuring precise labor-hour coding for shop and field projects to support accurate EBITDA tracking.
- Contractual Compliance: Review and authorize all field-generated Change Orders to ensure 100% capture of out-of-scope services and protection of margins.
Client Relations & Safety Leadership
- Strategic Client Interface: Build and maintain high-level relationships with mine site superintendents and industrial maintenance planners to ensure long-term satisfaction and contract retention.
- Regulatory Compliance: Enforce strict adherence to MSHA, OSHA regulations, and internal safety policies, championing a zero-incident culture.
Required Executive Qualifications
- Professional Experience: 8+ years of progressive leadership in heavy industrial operations, mining field services, or large-scale fabrication.
- Technical Proficiency: Deep domain expertise in heavy mining assets, specifically Draglines, Shovels, and Crushers.
- Business Acumen: Proven ability to interpret project P&Ls and adjust operational strategies mid-stream to preserve profitability.
- Logistical Expertise: A track record of success in managing complex mobilization logistics for multi-disciplinary teams.
