Role Description The Partnerships Executive is a full-time, hybrid role based in Colombo, with the flexibility to work from home for part of the week. The role involves identifying, building, and managing strategic partnerships with NGOs, corporate entities, government agencies, community organizations, and international development partners. The Partnerships Executive will conduct outreach, prepare proposals, develop concept notes, and coordinate meetings and presentations to secure collaborations and funding opportunities. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining a partnerships pipeline and CRM records, supporting the design of joint programs and campaigns, and aligning partnership activities with the organization’s mission and project goals. The role also includes collaborating with program, communications, and finance teams to ensure timely delivery of partnership commitments, preparing reports and presentations for stakeholders, and representing the organization at events, forums, and networking opportunities in Colombo and online.
Qualifications
- Strong partnership development and relationship management skills, including stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and networking with diverse local and international partners.
- Experience in proposal writing, concept note development, and donor or sponsor outreach, ideally within non-profit, social enterprise, or development settings.
- Ability to coordinate projects and campaigns, including planning, organizing meetings and events, tracking deliverables, and reporting on partnership outcomes.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the ability to craft clear presentations, briefs, and correspondence; proficiency in Sinhala and/or Tamil is an advantage.
- Understanding or strong interest in emotional intelligence, life skills, youth development, community development, or social and behavioral change communication.
- Comfort using digital tools (email, office productivity software, online collaboration platforms, and basic CRM or database tools) to manage partnership information and communication.
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Business, Marketing, Development Studies, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proactive, organized, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a diverse, creative team; willingness to occasionally
