Role Description The Pastry Chef is a full-time role responsible for producing high-quality baked goods, pastries, and desserts that align with Vasista Hospitality standards and client expectations. This is a hybrid role based in Mechinagar Municipality, with core duties performed on-site in hotel or hospitality kitchens and some planning or menu development tasks completed from home. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing and baking breads, cakes, pastries, and other desserts; designing and testing new recipes; ensuring consistent portioning and presentation; and maintaining strict food safety and hygiene standards. The Pastry Chef will organize production schedules, manage ingredient inventory, collaborate with kitchen teams, and support menu planning for events and regular service. The role also involves training junior team members, monitoring quality control, and adapting offerings to guest feedback and seasonal requirements.

Qualifications

  • Culinary Skills and Cooking experience, with a focus on professional kitchen operations and food safety practices.
  • Bakery and Baking expertise, including preparation of breads, pastries, cakes, and other baked products.
  • Strong Food Preparation skills, covering mise en place, ingredient handling, and efficient production workflows.
  • Formal culinary or pastry education, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in a hotel, resort, or bakery setting.
  • Knowledge of hygiene standards, allergen management, and local food safety regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team, manage time under pressure, and maintain attention to detail in presentation and flavor.
  • Basic inventory management and ordering skills, with familiarity in cost control and waste reduction.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required by hospitality operations.
