Position Overview

This position focuses on designing products for Cruise and Entertainment customers, including craft kits, photo frames, and promotional giveaways, with occasional opportunities to support retail projects.

The Product Designer manages the end-to-end design process for assigned projects from concept through production. Responsibilities include ideation, design development, planogram creation, prototyping, and delivering compelling presentations.

This mid-level role also involves designing products and packaging, creating presentations and collateral materials, building mockups, and supporting additional projects as needed. We are seeking candidates with a strong foundation in both graphic and product design.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Design and Artwork Creation

  • Design innovative and functional hard goods (not UI/UX) products and product packaging from concept through delivery
  • Create compelling presentations and pitches including digital mockups 
  • Translate trends and/or client branding into eye-catching products 
  • Work within multiple styles and under a variety of brand guidelines 
  • Produce technically correct factory ready files following product specs

Team Collaboration

  • Brainstorm with fellow designers to create new and innovative products
  • Assist the production team with factory file preparation and alterations 
  • Work closely with the Product Development team to ensure the creation of functional products, must understand how to read and how to follow product specs
  • Align with Art Director and Product Management on project updates, timelines, and deliverables 

Project Ownership 

  • Work on multiple complex projects simultaneously while owning deadlines and deliverables
  • Balance creativity with tight turnaround times, revisions, and technical challenges for numerous projects
  • Adapt to working in a rapidly changing and evolving environment.
  • Familiarity with project management software/tools like Monday.com is a plus

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred in Graphic Design or Product Design
  • 3-5 years of experience in design for hard-goods products (not UI/UX) and/or branding; experience working with licensed assets is a bonus.
  • A portfolio demonstrating design projects from concept to completion. Candidates without a portfolio will not be considered
  • Excellent team player with strong work ethic and personal accountability
  • Intuitive creative problem solver, curious, and self-motivated
  • Strong communication with the ability to work cross-functionally with numerous departments
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience working across retail, cruise, or entertainment product categories preferred

Technical Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Strong composition and typography skills with knowledge of layouts, design fundamentals, and print processes 
  • Ability to conceptualize and develop ideas through group and independent brainstorming
  • Excellent understanding of branding and ability to work within brand guidelines
  • Comfortable leveraging AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or similar)
  • Familiarity with spec and product development processes
  • Experience trend forecasting is a plus

This position offers a competitive compensation package, with pay commensurate with experience within the $60,000 – $65,000 range.
