Job Purpose 

As part of the Ice Cream Global Development Centre, you will play a crucial role in delivering the Global Ice Cream Programme, supporting/leading NPD and business continuity projects for the Global Innovation within the ED&I team.

Collaborating closely with internal functions (Marketing, Supply Chain, Procurement) and external partners (Third-Party Manufacturers, ingredients suppliers), this fast-paced opportunity allows you to channel your passion for creativity and deliver delicious and sustainable product experiences.

Responsibilities 

  • Plan, organise and execute a variety of project types under guidance of technical project leader, working closely with R&D experts from a variety of fields.
  • Support or lead technical delivery of innovation/renovation projects on-time in full, which include the following aspects: creative product concepts; formulation design; laboratory and pilot plant prototypes; costs; quality assessments; ingredient lists; legislation/nutritional compliance and claims. 
  • Organize and manage tasting sessions for the project team, involving R&D colleagues and cross-functional partners.
  • Undertake raw material & product stability trials, using a range of analytical methodologies and report the results back to the project team
  • Collaborate with suppliers to deliver new/improved product experience and accelerate identification of suitable new ingredients for the projects.
  • Write and manage specifications and systems data for the products you work on.
  • Contribute to the creation of selling stories and presentations to support customer development teams.
  • Identify cost-optimization opportunities within existing raw materials by analysing technical, financial, and supply chain data to evaluate risks and benefits.

Other Required Skills/experiences – Hard Skills Needed For The Role

  • Passion for food product development and creating great consumer experiences.
  • Collaborative team player with good communication skills and a willingness to learn.
  • Good attention to detail, with an interest in experimentation, data recording and basic analysis.
  • Able to plan your work, manage time effectively and follow priorities set by the team.
  • Degree level qualification (or equivalent) or early career experience in a technical discipline, preferably food technology or product development.

Good To Have

  • Some experience working cross functionally or with external partners (e.g. during placements, internships or graduate roles).
  • Exposure to product development projects from brief to launch.
  • Interest or initial experience working within an international or global environment (e.g. EU, Asia, Turkey).
