Product Operations Manager (Agents) Jobs in New York, United States at AUI™ (Augmented Intelligence)
Title: Product Operations Manager (Agents)
Company: AUI™ (Augmented Intelligence)
Location: New York, United States
About Us
We, at AUI, are pioneering the next generation of conversational AI agents with Apollo. Apollo isn't just another language model; it's a breakthrough neuro-symbolic foundation model for controllable agents, designed from the ground up to finally solve the controllability problem in conversational AI. This unique approach enables capabilities that the standard transformer models lack, such as reliable, native tool use and unprecedented granular control over agent behavior in each interaction, including the ability to implement hard rules and continuously fine-tune performance based on real-world feedback.
Apollo is demonstrating state-of-the-art results in demanding domains like retail and travel. We believe this technology is the essential unlock for truly reliable and scalable conversational agents across consumer and enterprise applications, moving the entire field forward. We invented this approach, and we're looking for passionate individuals to help us bring its power to the world.
The Role: Product Operations, AI
This is a hands-on, high-impact role on the Product team. You'll work alongside the CPO and learn first hand how a product like Apollo is created.
You’ll translate messy, open-ended problems into productized solutions that drive performance — and you’ll help turn AI behavior into something intentional, interpretable, and useful.
What You'll Do:
- Design, prototype, and refine prompts to guide Apollo’s behavior across varied use cases and complex workflows
- Become an expert at building agents on Apollo and at supporting customers and other parties to build agents using Apollo
- Run structured testing and evaluation of AI responses — balancing performance, safety, and user experience
- Collaborate with PMs, Engineering and Data to define behavior benchmarks and refine agent outputs in production
- Surface insights and propose system-level improvements to make Apollo smarter, faster, and more controllable.
- Monitor agent behavior, flag edge cases, and ensure compliance with product, safety, and brand guidelines
- Help define internal processes for iteration and QA on prompts, rules, and tool integrations.
Who We're Looking For:
This role is perfect for a recent graduate or early-career technologist who lives and breathes AI. You’re not expected to be an expert in everything — but you are expected to learn fast, care deeply, and bring a builder’s mindset to everything you touch.
You Might Be a Fit If You:
- Have 1–2 years of experience in a technical, product, or operational role — or a portfolio of side projects that shows initiative.
- Are AI-native: you’ve experimented with GPT, built a custom agent, or spent weekends hacking on LangChain or AutoGPT.
- Are highly analytical — comfortable interpreting data, running structured experiments, and thinking in systems.
- Have excellent written communication: you can craft precise prompts, spec documents, and internal documentation.
- Are a self-starter: you can take an open-ended problem and move it forward without needing a perfect playbook.
- Thrive in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment where speed and learning beat perfection.
- Are deeply curious about how AI systems work and excited to push the boundaries of what’s possible with Apollo.
Bonus points:
- You’ve built something end-to-end: an app, a chatbot, a tool, or just a weird experiment you’re proud of.
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, LLM evaluation techniques, or agent orchestration frameworks.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or analytics tools (even at a basic level).
- Past work or internships in startups, labs, or intense builder environments.
- Have written or spoken publicly about AI, tech, or product (blog posts, podcasts, research, etc.).
We hire on the basis of experience, culture fit and individuals who have a clear understanding as to why they should join our team.
New York Candidates: The expected salary range for this position is between $70k – $90k for New York State residents and is experience dependent.
