Role Description
As part of our high-performing public affairs team, you’ll help secure attention and action from the people who can make a difference. Whether it’s briefing a senior parliamentarian, crafting a compelling policy narrative, or building strategic relationships with key stakeholders, your work will directly help enable access to life-changing treatments.
What you’ll do
As a Public Affairs Associate, you will provide hands-on support to the development and delivery of government engagement and advocacy activities. Working closely with senior team members, you will help deliver high-quality client work, contribute to campaigns, and build foundational skills in public affairs and policy engagement. You will:
· Monitor and analyse political, policy, and media developments, tracking issues relevant to clients and preparing summaries, briefings, and updates to support informed decision-making.
· Draft written communication and persuasive content, including briefing notes, submissions, policy papers, presentations, and media materials, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and impact.
· Support stakeholder engagement, including assisting with meetings and correspondence with Federal and State parliamentarians, advisers, departments, and other policy stakeholders.
· Provide high-quality client service, supporting relationship management through professional communication, sound judgement, and discretion in handling sensitive information.
· Contribute to advocacy strategies and campaigns, supporting research, planning, and delivery to help achieve measurable policy outcomes.
· Manage competing priorities across multiple clients, coordinating timelines, tracking tasks, and meeting deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
Qualifications
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with experience in creating policy documents and summaries, or producing high-quality content for public communication.
- Expertise in Public Affairs and Public Relations, with the ability to engage stakeholders and address policy issues effectively.
- Strong Communication skills, including the ability to craft clear messaging tailored to various audiences.
- Experience in Project Management, including the ability to manage timelines, deliverables, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Demonstrated interest in government relations, healthcare communications or public policy is highly desirable.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Political Science, or a related field.
- Ability to thrive in a hybrid work environment, with excellent organizational and time-management skills.

- Expected salary: $70,000–$85,000 + superannuation + access to the company bonus program.
