The Recipe for Success: Role Summary
The Retail Performance Manager is responsible for driving sales performance and elevating customer experience across all stores in Japan. This is a highly visible role within the retail organization and a key partner to the Retail Director in strengthening store execution, improving KPI performance, and raising the quality of selling behaviours across the network.
The role has two equally important dimensions. First, it leads retail training, coaching, and capability building through the design and delivery of practical training, field coaching, and selling frameworks that improve the quality and consistency of customer engagement in stores. Second, it helps strengthen store operations by improving processes, operating routines, performance meetings, templates, and execution discipline across the network.
This is a highly operational role that requires both the design of the training itself and hands-on execution in the field. The successful candidate will spend significant time in stores alongside Store Managers and frontline teams to coach, demonstrate, challenge, and embed best practices, ensuring that capability development and operational improvements translate into measurable business results.
This role is particularly attractive for a proactive, high-energy individual who wants to build, lead, and drive visible change. It will suit a go-getter who is motivated by pace, ownership, and impact, and who is equally comfortable designing practical retail training tools and frameworks and executing them on the shop floor.
