We’re building the food content people actually want to watch. Now, we’re launching our flagship long-form video series (think BuzzFeed’s Worth It, but Egyptian & Khaleeji) and we need a talented writer who can make it genuinely hilarious.
Job Description
We are looking for a Content Writer & Scriptwriter to be the creative engine behind Pleny’s video content.
In this role, you won’t just write bullet points—you will write full, production-ready scripts for our long-form food comparison series (8–15 mins) and short-form content (Reels/TikTok). You’ll craft every line of host dialogue, joke, reaction beat, VO, on-screen text, and visual cue.
If you can write character-driven comedy that lands natively in Egyptian Arabic, describe food in a way that makes people hungry, and understand social video pacing, this role is for you.
Key Responsibilities
- Flagship Series Scriptwriting: Write complete, production-ready scripts for our long-form food comparison series (cold open, host banter, tasting beats, sensory descriptions, and shot directions).
- Comedy & Retention: Craft native Egyptian/Gulf humor, running gags, and strong visual hooks (first 10 seconds) that keep viewers watching until the end.
- Short-Form Content: Write high-retention vertical scripts (Reels/TikToks) for creators/ambassadors and repurpose long-form episodes into viral short clips.
- Visual Briefs & Storyboarding: Translate scripts into clear shot lists, B-roll notes, and shooting-day visual guides for the production crew.
- Outreach Templates: Draft warm, persuasive email, Instagram DM, and WhatsApp pitch templates to get UAE & Egypt restaurants to host our shoots.
- Research & Trends: Track regional food trends, scout new restaurant concepts, and pitch fresh episode ideas.
