Position: Seasonal Event Technician, Audio Visual – The Abbey Resort & Avani Spa
A seasonal Technician is responsible for the set up and operation of basic/small‑scale audiovisual systems in a hospitality environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to an Operations Manager, Operations Director or Director, Event Technology.
Job Duration
This seasonal position will have an end date of October 2026. Seasonal full‑time positions offer benefits, overtime, training, and promotional opportunities. At the end of season October 2026, you may be invited to reapply based on business levels and performance.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Equipment Operation – Ensures flawless event execution through accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of basic audiovisual equipment.
- Customer Service – Strives to exceed expectations of internal and external customers, maintains positive relationships, meets with guests on site, monitors events, and ensures equipment setup works.
- Technical Ability – Demonstrates basic operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues, handles challenges timely and professionally.
- Systems Knowledge – Understands company processes, follows procedures, completes systems entry and paperwork accurately, determines scheduled equipment, interacts with staff and vendors, upsells revenue, finalizes invoices, and completes order entries as needed.
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma required;
Associate’s degree preferred. - 1 year of customer service or hospitality experience preferred.
- 1 year of audio‑visual experience or equivalent in an educational environment preferred.
- A valid driver’s license required for team members that may operate Company vehicles.
- Additional DOT requirements may need to be met if applicable.
- External applicants must complete required training and certifications within 60 days of start date.
- Internal applicants must meet all training and certification requirements as determined by Encore’s Global Learning Training Program.

Work Environment
Work performed in hotel/convention center environment with moderate exposure to outdoor temperatures and to dirt, sand, and dust. Conditions vary between moderately quiet to noisy. Use of high‑end audio‑visual equipment and electrical components with exposure to heights. Multiple hotel locations may be visited. Work times include irregular hours, on‑call status including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Appearance guidelines as defined by Encore.
Compensation
Hourly Pay Range: $15.64 – $20.33. Compensation determined based on the qualifications outlined in the posting and may include overtime, bonuses or incentives. Final compensation based on location, travel, experience or skill.
