The Opportunity
Rylem is a boutique staffing firm built by operators for operators. We place top Tech/IT, Accounting & Finance, and Marketing & Creative talent with Seattle's most competitive employers — from high-growth pre-IPO companies to established enterprise names.
We're not a big-box staffing agency. We run a tight, high-performing team and we've built the tools to match. Rylem uses a fully custom AI-powered CRM (Pulse) that handles personalized outreach, sequence management, call workflows, and account intelligence — so our BDMs spend time on relationships, not busywork.
We're looking for a Senior BDM to own and grow a book of business in the Seattle market. This is a hunter role. You'll be responsible for generating new client relationships, driving meetings, and closing job orders — with the full support of our AI sales stack behind you.
You won't be starting from zero. There is an existing set of active client accounts ready for you to take over — relationships already established, job orders already in motion. You'll hit the ground with real revenue opportunity on day one while you build your own pipeline alongside it.
What You'll Do
- Take ownership of an existing book of active client accounts from day one — established relationships with open job orders already in motion — and expand them while building your own new logo pipeline
- Build and manage a pipeline of hiring managers at Seattle-area companies across our target verticals (Tech/IT, Accounting & Finance, Marketing & Creative)
- Run a disciplined outbound motion using Pulse, our AI-powered CRM, to identify, research, and engage prospects at scale
- Generate 10+ qualified meetings per week with decision-makers who have real hiring authority and budget
- Own the full sales cycle: discovery, needs analysis, presenting talent solutions, negotiating terms, and closing job orders
- Partner with our recruiting team to ensure delivery meets client expectations; protect and grow existing accounts
- Attend all virtual and in-person client meetings; represent Rylem with professionalism and market expertise
- Maintain clean CRM data — notes, contact status, sequence progression — so the team's AI tools can do their job

What We're Looking For
Must-Haves
- 3–7 years of B2B sales experience in the Seattle market — staffing, SaaS, professional services, or recruiting preferred
- Demonstrably a hunter: comfortable with high-volume outbound and motivated by new logo acquisition
- Strong written communication skills — our AI tools amplify your voice, but you need a voice worth amplifying
- Track record of meeting or exceeding quota; can speak to specific numbers and what drove them
- Relationship-first mindset: you're building long-term partnerships, not transactional volume
Strong Signals (Not Required)
- Direct staffing experience — especially with tech, finance, or creative placements
- Experience selling to VP/Director-level hiring managers (not HR or procurement)
- Existing network in Seattle's mid-market tech or finance ecosystem
- Comfortable adapting to and using technology to drive sales efficiency
Red Flags We Screen For
- VMS/MSP-heavy backgrounds — we run contingency at 25%; volume commodity models don't fit our approach
- Reliance on inbound or referral-only pipelines — this is an outbound-first role
- Writing quality that can't hold its own in a peer-to-peer executive conversation
