Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Senior Merchandise Planner role based in Kathmandu. The Senior Merchandise Planner will develop and manage merchandise financial plans, including sales, margin, inventory, and markdown projections across assigned categories. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing historical performance and current trends, building demand forecasts, and collaborating with buying, allocation, and retail operations teams to optimize product assortments and stock levels. The role will monitor in-season performance, identify risks and opportunities, and recommend actions such as reorders, transfers, or markdowns to maximize profitability and sell-through. The Senior Merchandise Planner will prepare regular reports and dashboards, present insights to leadership, and support strategic initiatives related to assortment planning, store clustering, and new product launches. This role requires close coordination with cross-functional partners to ensure the right product is in the right place at the right time, aligned with the Brandhouse Nepal customer and brand vision.
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical Skills and proficiency in using data to forecast, model scenarios, and support merchandising decisions.
- Demonstrated experience in Demand Planning and merchandise financial planning, including sales, margin, and inventory forecasting.
- Proficiency in Inventory Management, including stock optimization, replenishment, and sell-through management.
- Effective Communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across buying, allocation, finance, and store teams.
- Understanding of Sales drivers and retail KPIs, with experience aligning plans to category and store performance.
- Advanced skills in Excel or other planning tools; familiarity with retail planning or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Retail Management, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Relevant experience in fashion, footwear, or lifestyle retail merchandising or planning; senior or lead planning experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize multiple deadlines, and comfort working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
