Job Description
As the most senior individual contributor, you will architect and build the foundational API infrastructure for the UK's first real-time credit bureau. Reporting directly to the CTO, you will ship high-performance Go microservices on AWS, setting the technical standards for a team modernizing credit data for regulated lenders across the country.

What You Will Do
- Design and lead the architecture of high-performance Go microservices on AWS using Fargate, Lambda, Aurora Postgres, and DynamoDB.
- Mentor mid-level engineers through high-quality code reviews, pair programming, and coaching to elevate the team's overall engineering craft.
- Drive the evolution of the B2B API surface and data layer, balancing simple designs with the scalability required for a regulated financial environment.
The ideal candidate
- Has 5+ years of commercial experience with a deep mastery of Go and a track record of operating B2B API services in production.
- Demonstrates expertise scaling AWS cloud-native applications and modern CI/CD practices within fintech or other highly regulated industries.
- Combines sound architectural judgment with the deliberate use of AI tools like Claude to accelerate delivery without compromising on accountability or quality.
